Hello, Fellow Lions!
You have probably heard the old saying - if you want something done, ask a Lion to do it? - Well, our Mid-Winter Convention Camp Walk is an example of that accomplishment. We asked for the District's support for the Camp Walk and Lions you helped to raise almost $24,000.00 for Texas Lions Camp!!! What a tremendous success for our campers and for District 2X-2!!!!!
WOW... I'm so impressed with the results of all the Lion's efforts, and here is a big Thank you to all of you who made our request a reality!!!
We have several important events coming up and I will mention them briefly here. Our next cabinet meeting will be in Bogata at the Bogata Community Center on February 16, 2008. Lion Shirley Vickers and her committee have been working hard to make this meeting a success and we really need for your club to be represented there. We will have final awards from the Camp Walk, and discussion of the Benefit planned for May 31, 2008. In addition we have information to share on the upcoming District Convention in Paris, Texas. One Important Note: The hotel accommodations have been changed to the Holiday Inn in Paris. We will have new reservation forms at the Cabinet Meeting in Bogata. I can promise you will have an entertaining time at our convention in April - we will have activities for the spouses Saturday afternoon that will be interesting and you don't want to miss the steak dinner we have planned Friday night!!
See you in Bogata on Saturday, February 16th!!!! 8:30 AM
Governor Jim

Meeting Each Thursday At Noon
To the Lions of District 2-X2:
The Paris Founders Lions Club is honored to have been chosen to host the 64th Annual District Convention of District 2-X2 April 18-19, 2008.
A complete weekend of activities has been planned. First is check-in at the Best Western on Loop 286 (at your convenience) on Friday afternoon, April 18, after 3 p.m. A hospitality room will be provided by the Paris Founders Lions Club for your enjoyment, relaxation and visitation.
Friday evening is the most informal part of the meeting: rib-eye steak night. As you may recall, we cut and prepare our own steaks, cooked by three of our most accomplished Lions chefs and their assistants, with all of the expected trimmings and side dishes.
For information on plans for Saturday, April 19, please refer to the information being sent to each club's secretary. Please note the deadline for registration, April 5, 2008.
We look forward to seeing you in Paris April 18-19. If you have questions or there is information you need that we have not covered, please call either Lion Jim Brunette at 903-785-1220 or Lion J.B. Lowry at 903-784-7446.
See you in January!
